LUUK IS BORN !

Our nephew Luuk is born on Sunday February 25 . He weighs 3160 grams and is a healthy young boy.

Congratulations Ilse and Joost with the birth of your son!

Luuk, we welcome you in this world and wish you lots of fun with your new mum and dad.

Superman and Cowboy Cool

Sunday February 18 we went to the Carnaval in Ravenstein. Of course both Julius and Valentijn were dressed up. Julius liked his Superman outfit very much and Valentijn was the tough cowboy. Together with Wil and Lesly to the parade and afterwards for some beers in the local pub.

The digging has started !

Yesterday I went to the Piekenhoef together with Julius to make pictures of the grass land where our house-to-be is going to be build. I want to make pictures every few weeks, because then you can see the progress in the construction process. To my great surpise the digging finally started.

Snowworld with Jacques

Tuesday I went skiing in Snowworld Zoetermeer with my good friend Jacques van Iperen. He invited me to go there as a present for my birthday. Great gift, very original! After a few times downhill with a bit of fear we both managed to ski fairly good. In Zoetermeer they have two indoor pistes, with real snow. Temperature therefore is around zero degrees Celsius. I can tell you thats cold without gloves.

I want to thank Jacques for the very pleasant evening. It was like old times, have a few beers and some sate with french fries. Talking about various subjects and this time without running kids the house.
I fully agree with you that we need to this more often. Shall we plan a next one right away?

Few of friends and collegueas are using it regularly. After hearing an item about it in one my favorite podcasts of Radio Online on my iPod it gained also my interest. I opened a profile and will add various items there in the near future. Lets see if will take over Google as my favourite search engine up till now.

Kitchen for new house

In one of my previous post you saw that we bought a new house. Since this needs to be build we have to choose everything new. The first project we need to choose is a kitchen. We have been to various shops. We think about choosing this one. The chosen lay- out has two islands. One for cooking and one for washing up and preparing the food. We chose to buy a Siematic kitchen. That's great quality. In the shop the salesman even asked Julius to step in one of the drawers. Since we are very much into buying good quality, we love this kitchen. The oven and microwae are made by Siemens. We did not buy it yet. So if you have some suggestions, please let us know.

A day in the zoo

December 26th we went to the zoo in Amersfoort. It was a great afternoon. A bit cold, but fortunately not raining. Underneath you see Julius riding an elephant. Both he and Valentijn had a great time with all the animals.

Because it was still Christmas there were even some animals who had their own Christmas tree. (except for the elephants because they eat them right a way)

In this zoo they have an enormous amount of dinosaurs. In the near future they are going to build a big dinosour park inside the zoo. Looking at Julius' face we need to go back when this park is ready.

Of course both the boys were well asleep on the way home. So Danielle and I were able to have a pleasant evening where we had great Christmas dinner with gambas and other delicious food.
